This is the part where I’m supposed to say I love coffee and long walks on the beach, right?
Let’s skip to the good part: I’m Crystal - photographer of 16+ years, Showit OG, Harry Potter nerd (Hufflepuff, obviously) , NKOTB lifer, and the unapologetically pink force behind Make It POP!
As a photographer I know just how frustrating it is to feel invisible in an industry where everyone owns a camera and sad beige still has a chokehold on your social media feed.
FACT: I was a photographer long before I was a designer, and that makes ALL the difference.
I’ve shot weddings. I run a full-blown newborn studio. I know the pressure of pricing, the hustle for leads, the all-nighters spent editing someone else’s “Pinterest dream.”
For longer than I care to admit, I tried so hard to fit in... to follow the trends (remember the damask phase?), play the Instagram game, impress the “cool” crowd. But blending in only made me invisible.
That’s why I started building bold, scroll-stopping brands that actually stand out. Because your work deserves more than a trendy template. It deserves a vibe that’s unmistakably you. The kind of brand that makes people say, “Whoa, I need them.”
Let’s make sure that’s YOU.
I started my photography journey, on film (with the awkward early-2000s work to prove it).
• 2001
Crystal Lee Photography became official - licenses, taxes, and all the legit business things.
2009 •
I opened my first portrait studio, and had my first daughter!
• 2012
The design side hustle began - back when Showit dropped flash websites and made the move to vertical scrolling magic.
2016 •
Crowned Showiteer of the Year at Showit United (now Spark)... while I was secretly 5 weeks pregnant.
• 2018
After 9 years of working as Crystal Lee Design Studio, I knew it was time for something bolder - something that truly matched the energy I bring to every project.
Enter: Make It POP!
A name with personality, punch, and zero room for blending in.
2025 •
One’s a basketball star, Pokémon master, and Zelda champion that is permanently dressed in gym shorts, hoodies and Crocs with socks.
The other? A Barbie-loving, glitter-covered Swiftie who dreams of taking the stage - decked out in all the bright colors and every single piece of jewelry she owns.
They're both unique brands in the making, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

He’s my rock and the best thing I’ve ever found on the internet. He handles my OCD and hyperfocus bouts like a champ, and somehow still manages to keep me grounded when I’m 4 coffees deep into a new rabbithole.
(Yes, he introduced me to Star Wars. Yes, it was in our vows.)
I didn’t always have the confidence to show up as myself, but that’s the fire I’m passing on - to my kids, to my clients, and to every photographer out there who’s ready to stop blending in and finally stand out.
Because being different IS a superpower!
It’s Me. Hi. I’m the Problem Solver, It’s Me.
Photography business owner (taxes, ew) for 16+ years. I speak fluent shutter speed.
Nerding out over this platform since way before vertical scrolling was cool.
Trained by Fuel Your Photos, I keep it clean, ethical, and Google-approved.
I’m a proud Hufflepuff and potions master. Even my lightsaber is yellow.
(its a thing, trust me)
All identities welcome, always. Here, be loudly and proudly YOU.
That’s not just a fancy title, it means I’ve been vetted by the Showit team as the real deal.
I’ve taken more courses than I can count, worked alongside other top designers, and even sat at the table (literally) with the CEO and key leaders of the platform.
You know that newbie "photographer" who got a camera for Christmas and was selling mini sessions by New Year’s? Yeah… that happens in the design world too. But that’s not me. Like, at all.
When you work with me, you’re not getting a beginner who might ghost mid-project - you’re getting 100% certified, nerd-level support from someone who’s walked in your shoes and knows how to build websites that look good AND convert.
Boy bands are my love language. NKOTB = the blueprint.
I wear flip flops in winter.
Because Myrtle Beach.
I binge-watch Lord of the Rings
in my sweatpants like it’s a holiday.
I’ve booked weddings because of my love for New Kids on the Block and all things nerdy and Disney. True story.
I run themed portrait events at my studio - yes, even a wizarding school complete with potions class.
I live at the beach
but prefer the pool.
Pink is my favorite color
(since forever, not just post-Barbie).

It's coarse and rough and irritating and it gets everywhere."
